  48. 1. Use the scroll bars at the side of the card(s) to scroll up and down.

  50. 2. If a command features a hyphenated command such as: COMMAND-SHIFT-3, you are to hold down the Command, Shift, and 3 keys simultaneously.

  52. 3. Use COMMAND-F for searching.  Hit Command-F, then type a word to search for.  Hit Return to begin your search.  If the computer beeps at you it cannot find the word you wanted it to search for.  Try another word.

  54. 4. You can add your own information to the the stacks.

  56. 5. Hit the Home button to go back to the Home card. 
  57. (You must have the Browse tool, the "hand" from the Tools menu, selected.)

  59. 6. If you hit the NEW button and did not wish to create a new card, pull down the Edit menu and select  Cut Card.

  61. 7. If you wish to flip rapidly through the cards in a stack, click on the Quick View button located next to the Home (book button).

  63. 8. The arrow button located at the far right of the card will take you back to the last CARD you looked at.

  66. 9. As you become more experienced with HyperCard you will need to "unprotect" the stacks and compact them if you have added your own help information.  Compacting the stacks will shrink them in the amount of disk space they take up.
